Homeschool Co-op/ Boys Soccer!

I know I don't blog much but I just wanted to take a minute and tell you all about our day yesterday. I really HATE that my camera is broken. It broke right before all the kids birthdays in the spring. Perfect timing right?? I wish I had pics from yesterday but... oh well. :)

So yesterday was the first official day of Co-op. For me, it was like, eh, cool, I'm glad we get to do school somewhere else once a week and it was pretty fun meeting other homeschoolers and making friends. But Connor was just STOKED to get to 'go to school'! LOL! Carson was excited too but for some reason, Connor just REALLY thinks he needs to go to school where mommy isn't the teacher! He has been counting down the days! And the looks on their faces when they went to class, to lunch, P.E. ect made me SO grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it. Charlee did GREAT in the nursery! Connor is taking Apologia Science, Peacemakers, Character First, and PE. Carson is taking Pre K Skills, Play time (which I was a part of yesterday. We did a scavenger hunt outside:) Arts and Crafts and P.E. I sat in the nursery for the first hour to make sure Charlee would be ok and sat in with Carson for the other classes. Carson is SUCH a crafty kid! I love it! He is all over the art stuff and takes his time making everything perfect! He writes his name SO good already! I seriously see that kid becoming an architect or something. I love watching him draw and color! Connor had a hard time not being disruptive in each class... surprise surprise right?? LOL!!! He is such a character! He is definitely the class clown/ can't sit still/ center of attention type kid! It's frustrating and embarrassing but I wouldn't change it for anything! His personality is so happy and fun! I am very grateful he is not in public school though because I think he would be perceived as a bad kid or told he has adhd or something stupid like that. He is SUCH a good boy!! Carson is super quiet and well behaved in his classes. LOL! He raises his hand when his teacher asks questions and listens well. He is so cute!

Well both kids start soccer this year! Carson had his first practice last week. It was SO exciting for him!! The past year he has had to watch Connor play sports and he cries the entire time because he feels left out so it is VERY exciting that he gets to start something too! He LOVES his green and blue uniform! He did SO good at his practice and is by far the biggest kid on his team! He has such an athletic build! He could do anything he wants I'm sure! Connor's first practice was yesterday. He was STOKED! He walked way ahead of me, right up to his coach and said, "Hi, are you my coach? My name is Connor Jamison Pellew." LOL! When we established we were in the right place, Connor stuck out his hand to shake his coaches hand and said, "It's nice to meet you." HAhahah!!! He is always so proper and outgoing when he meets people! He had a blast at practice! But I did have to get after him once because he wouldn't stop randomly wrestling his team mates. :/ I really think soccer might be his thing over all the other sports. Oh and he chose the name for his team, "The Red Dragons" all the kids loved his idea so they went with it! Charlee, Carson and I played on the playground while Connor practiced. Charlee threw many little tantrums because she wanted to play with this giant dog that was there the entire time! LOL! Charlee is something else as well! I'll have to talk about her on another post. haha! I love my kids and feel incredibly blessed!

A few random things about the life of Connor lately... He recently learned to whistle after WEEKS of CONSTANT practice!! When he wants to learn something, he doesn't stop till he gets it! He also just learned to tie his shoe and ride a bike! He learned how to ride a bike on his OWN! And so about a week or so ago, there were some Mexican's working on the house of the roof across the street kiddie corner from us. Connor was playing outside and he yelled out, "Hola Amigos!" Ahhhh EMBARRASSING!!!!!!! They actually said, "Hola" back! haha!! He goes, "I said that because they speak Spanish!" Oh man!

This is DEFINITELY WAY over due! lol! But here is Charlee's birth story! :) I'll add pics soon!

Charlee's birth story!!!

Saturday, May 29th I was having contractions off and on. They stopped for a while and then I went on a long walk with the boys and my friend, Steph. Right after that, it picked back up. I had no idea if I was in labor or not since I had been having these weird contractions all week. We went to bed around 11 or 12 that night. Everyone went to sleep and that's about when they started to really hurt- not bad but enough that I couldn't sleep. Still unsure if it was real labor or not, I just cleaned and took a bath. Eventually I decided to time the contractions and they were about 4-6 minutes apart.

Around 3am I decided I was in labor and called my doula, Stephanie to come over. She helped me deal with the pain and gave me massages and used essential oils to help me. When the pain was starting to become unbearable, I decided to go to the hospital. I was admitted around 5:15 am. At that time I was dilated 4+ cm (almost 5), -1 station and 80% effaced. (Although it felt like I should have been like 7cm!!) I went into my room. The boys, Jamie and Stephanie were with me and helped me through everything with back rubs, oils and a birthing ball ect. The boys just watched movies while all this was going on. They were SO tired! They came back to check me around 8am. At this time, the worst pain was hitting! I was 8cm dilated. Soon after, I wanted an epidural but the anesthesiologist was in a c-section. By the time he was done, it was too late for one and it was about time to push. The pain was excruciating!!! I've never been in so much pain in my life!! I was screaming! It was like a real life horror film! My midwife, Guy Cox, was amazing and helped me through the end so much! I couldn't have done it without him, my wonderful doula and my amazing husband! I can't say enough how much I recommend having a midwife and a doula! I pushed for 8 minutes. She was posterior and stuck and her heart rate dropped really low and she went into distress. She inhaled meconium and when she came out, she was not breathing and they couldn't get her to breath. The pulled a code blue and rushed her to NICU. It was so scary! Nobody would say if she was ok or not. I guess she inhaled a lot and it was stuck to her lungs and she was unable to breath on her own. She was on a breathing machine, oxygen, a feeding tube and antibiotics for lung infection. She was finally released on Wednesday and is doing great now!

My recovery was amazing this time around! I can't say yet if I recommend going drug free or not! LOL! I still feel tortured and in shock! But I never felt this good after the boys births! I had no stitches, no additional water retention from all the drugs and fluids they fill you with, no blood pressure issues from the pit and epi, no back pain from the epi. NONE of the stuff I had to deal with when I was on drugs the first two times! And it went WAY faster going on my own with no interference! I felt great right after she was born!

Reshaping it ALL

I haven't blogged for WAY too long! Oh my gosh! But... I'm going to get back on it and hopefully catch up on some important events like..... Charlee's birth! haha! Anyways, I'm working on getting back in shape right now. I've GOT to do this! It's ridiculous how easy it is to let yourself go after having babies! I can't stand it anymore! So I'm working on getting back in shape physically and spiritually!!
